Q & A: Sugar-free cupcakes

We recently received an email asking about our sugar-free cupcakes. How do we do it? We don't exactly advertise our sugar-free cupcakes so I'm glad we got this question. For people looking for healthier options, we tell them about our Sweet Elise collection which is more organic, refined sugar free, and 100% sweet, as we like to say. However, for people who want to avoid sugar, we use either Splenda or agave nectar, depending on the customer's preference.

We are glad to have been asked this question because it made us realize that our customers probably don't know that we are able to customize certain recipes to meet their dietary needs. For other questions about our cupcakes, please send an email to order@lenoxcupcakes.com. Have a great day!

Custom Cupcakes for University of Georgia Couple

A few months ago, we had the pleasure of creating 300 custom Georgia “G” cupcakes for the wedding celebration of Rosemary and Joel. The couple are huge Georgia fans and wanted their cupcakes to reflect this. It was a personal pleasure to be part of that project because I’m a huge Georgia fan myself. We made 100 each of Red Velvet, Chocolate Whisper, and Vanilla-Vanilla for the event. All the cupcakes were topped with hand-cut fondant Georgia “G” lettering in either red or black. Georgia, red or black, that is…

We’ve finally been able to get a hold of a couple of pictures from their event which took place at the UGA stadium (Georgia fans know Sanford Stadium oh so well). I wasn’t there to see the set up myself so I’m glad that their event coordinator Jenn Thomas (of Jennnifer Thomas Designs) was kind enough to send the pictures my way. The lovely photos were taken by Jeremy Harwell, a photographer in Athens. Enjoy!

Here’s what their event coordinator, Jenn, had to say about the cupcakes after the event:

"The cupcakes were a huge hit last weekend! Everyone raved about them all evening, and I had several people ask me where they had come from- so hopefully you'll have some new customers! "

New Things!

So, my last post was about New Happenings. This post is about new things. I can hardly contain my excitement about our new personalized ribbons. We've been using them for two or three weeks and I just LOVE them. We include them (for FREE, fingers crossed) as part of our gift packaging.

My friend Ase (of Ase Photography) took some beautiful pictures and I just HAD to share! Oh, and if you're on Flickr, you'll see some other great shots that she took of our cuppies. There are way too many of them to post here so I set up our Lenox Cupcakes Flickr page.

Cuppies = Cupcakes

Have a great weekend!

New Happenings

Hi Everyone!

It’s been a long, dry (blogging) spell and thought I should let you guys in on some of the things we’re working on. First of all, let me say how thrilled I am to have a terrific new kitchen rental agreement. We’ve settled quite nicely into our new digs and are thrilled to be doing business with such amazing ladies. Emphasis on amazing. This kitchen is equipped to the nines with state-of-the-art equipment that we’re almost afraid to touch. Almost!

More recently, we’ve been approached about a possible retail outlet for Lenox Cupcakes. Now, being the organic business-building people that we are, we want to partner with another business to provide an awesome experience for our customers. As always, our customers come first so we are looking to partner with a business that’s all about providing exceptional service to their customers as well. That’s a biggie. If you know of any businesses looking for a storefront in the Buckhead area, please tell them about us. We’ll thank you in cupcakes. That’s all for now. Enjoy the rest of your week. Personally, I am looking forward to making monkey cupcakes for a little boy’s first birthday. I haven’t made them since my baby turned one so it should be fun!

Lenox Cupcakes FAQ

Lenox Cupcakes Photo by Ase Photography

The following are actual questions commonly asked by our customers. Email us at order@lenoxcupcakes.com if you have a question that is not answered below.

Do you have a store front?
No we do not operate a physical store front. We bake out of a licensed commercial kitchen and make deliveries throughout metro Atlanta.

Can I order cupcakes to be delivered on the same day?
While we appreciate 24 hours advance notice, we will do our very best to accommodate any last minute requests. Trust us, it doesn’t hurt to ask.

Do you deliver or ship out of state?
We currently deliver locally within metro Atlanta and do not ship our cupcakes at this time.

How long will my cupcakes stay fresh?
Because our cupcakes are baked to order, they are typically made within hours (minutes even!) of when you receive them. We use all natural ingredients that don’t contain preservatives so it is best to consume the cupcakes within two days. If you plan on keeping them longer, be sure to keep them in an air-tight container and freeze them. If you freeze the cupcakes, wait for them to return to room temperature before eating them.

Can I refrigerate my cupcakes?
Putting your cupcakes in the refrigerator will cause them to dry out. Our cupcakes are best eaten the same day you receive them. If you need to keep them longer, put the cupcakes in an air-tight container and freeze them. Once taken out of the freezer, be sure to wait until the cupcakes are at room temperature before eating them.

Do you offer tastings?
We don't offer tastings but recommend that you order a box of cupcakes (two per dozen or baker's choice of the day) in advance of your wedding or event. If you order a minimum of five dozen regular cupcakes for your event within a year of ordering your sample box, we will credit the cost of the sample box (minus delivery fees).

I need to surprise someone with cupcakes, is it okay to not call ahead to confirm delivery?
We love being a part of your surprise. However, we need to be sure that there is someone available to receive the cupcakes when delivery is scheduled. We’ll follow your specific instructions to ensure that the surprise is not ruined, promise.

How much is the delivery fee?
Delivery starts at $5 and is based on distance. To give you an idea of delivery fee for certain neighborhoods: Buckhead - $5 and up; Sandy Springs, Midtown, Downtown Atlanta, Emory, North Decatur - $10 and up; Alpharetta and Marietta - $20 and up.

Is there really a two-flavor limit per dozen regular or two dozen minis?
Because we bake to order, there is a two-flavor limit per dozen regular cupcakes or two dozen micro mini cupcakes. However, if you want more of an assortment, we have the Baker’s Choice which allows you ,more of a variety based on orders already on the books for the day. For instance, if we have Dark Chocolate Bliss, Red Velvet, and Vanilla-Vanilla on the books for a particular day, the Baker’s Choice for that day will consist of all three flavors. Here’s a link to a previous post on our blog about Baker’s Choice.

Can you deliver to my child's school?
We absolutely can! We are fully licensed by the Georgia Department of Agriculture and bake out of a commercial kitchen which is licensed and inspected by the health department. Included in the delivery is a list of ingredients to enable school officials make decisions about which cupcakes may not be suitable for children with allergies.

Cupcakes really make people happy

Lenox Cupcakes Photo by Ase Photography

This past weekend, we took some cupcakes to the folks at a senior assited living facility in my old neighborhood. The idea of course came from my brilliant sister and I have no idea why I never thought about that. I’ve only driven past them like oh, a zillion million times before. Anyway, I asked if they would like to have some cupcakes and they said, “Bring it on!” Two hundred cupcakes later, and with huge grins from the residents, we walked away feeling great. I have a feeling I'll be back to visit before long.
