Lenox Cupcakes Featured on Cupcakes Take the Cake

OMG! I just checked the HUGELY popular cupcake blog – Cupcakes Take The Cake and saw that we were featured yesterday! Sorry for all the extra exclamations, caps and all, but I seriously LOVE that blog. I was just reading their blog and my heart nearly exploded when I saw our logo splashed across my screen. I had just emailed them to tell them about Lenox Cupcakes in the hopes that I would get added to their blog roll but what did they do? They did a WHOLE feature on Lenox Cupcakes!

I am too excited for words. That was super nice of them. They didn’t have to but I am glad they did. If you are new to the cupcake world, that blog is the queen of all cupcake blogs. They have a blog roll where they list cupcakeries around the country and even around the world. I go there for news about everything cupcake related. It really is an honor to have been featured and I just couldn’t wait to share the news.

Lenox Cupcakes Celebrates with LOLA

This is one last minute order I am so glad we took. Today, Lola Bellini Bar & Restaurant located in the Terminus building (at the corner of Peachtree and Piedmont) celebrates its first anniversary and they chose Lenox Cupcakes to provide cupcakes for the event. So, while it is a little late in the day for me, the night is still young at Lola. Go celebrate with them. I hear they created some special drinks just for tonight. That, and some Lenox Cupcakes. We delivered Coco-Nut (those are becoming quite popular), Red Velvet, Dark Chocolate Bliss, and Vanilla-Vanilla. We also put together some new flavors because they gave us the creative license to do so. Silly me, no pictures. Sorry.

Special thanks to Executive Chef Martin who was super-nice and his staff (the guy that led me to the kitchen and the guy that opened the door for me and my boxes). Congratulations to you and your team!

What's Wrong with PayPal?

What's wrong with PayPal, you might ask? Probably nothing but at LC, the customer is always right. It seems like we are losing customers because we require PayPal for pre-orders. Actually, it doesn't seem like, we definitely are losing customers because we use PayPal. Quite a few orders "dropped off" at the transaction processing stage in one week alone. That, added to a conversation with a prospective client got us thinking. What's wrong people? You don't like PayPal? We're talking to our person and we'll fix the situation.

We’re ba-ack!

Literally. Crate & Barrel has asked us back to their Wedding Event. At the last event, we delivered three flavors: Red Velvet, Vanilla-Vanilla, and Coco-Nut. According to our contact over there, “they were a smash hit!” Their words. And we certainly don’t mind conveying the message! This coming weekend, we’re delivering Coco-nut (by popular demand), Tropical Lime, and Chocolate/Vanilla. This time though, it’ll be a combination of regular sized and our little cuppies – the micro minis as I like to call them. So, if you are planning to be at the Crate & Barrel Wedding Event at Lenox Mall on Sunday, plan on having some Lenox Cupcakes!

Photoshoot!

It's glaringly obvious - there are NO pictures whatsoever on our current website. Fortunately, our lovely neighbor has graciously agreed to help take pictures of our scrumptious goodies. All hands are on deck planning layouts for the photoshoot next week. Pictures will soon thereafter become available on http://www.lenoxcupcakes.com/. And in case you were wondering, a newly re-designed website is in the works also. There's lots going on around here!

What Market?

After many months of consideration, I think I will showcase Lenox Cupcakes at a local market. I have many apprehensions about doing this, the biggest being the toll it would take on my family. I have a young son and childcare is a major consideration. We'll work it out.

The thing is, what market? I set my sights on a farmer's market close by but I've heard that they've got many applications under consideration. Next, is an open-air market in a hip neighborhood but I've been told that I can't be a vendor there due to a possible conflict with the grocery store in the area! Seriously? The third and most likely option is another open-air market in a quieter neighborhood. Really nice neighborhood. I am not sure how I would describe it except that it has a nice mix of intellectuals due to the university in the area. Quiet.

The way I see it, I need to keep Lenox Cupcakes moving. So far, we've been delivery/pick-up but I would like to get out there and mingle with folks and really grow my business organically. That's really what this is about, growing a business from the ground up!
